What You Get

We used stock effects to maximize compatibility, but you can customize them further with your 3rd party VSTs. 

How We Recorded The Sounds

We went into a large hardware store with a field recorder and spent a few hours experimenting with things (i.e. hitting the products together) like giant planks of wood, boxes of parts, locks, plastics, hoses, cans, and anything that might make a musically interesting sound.

You can use these metallic impacts, clicks, pop, crackles, smacks, slams, rattles and tones as they are or layered with more traditional sounds to add texture and depth to your music production.

Or you can chop up our loops and one-shots with our processing.

69 Loops (Updated for 2026)

This sample pack originally included 54 original, royalty-free, totally weird and experimental loops made using only the sounds in this pack to start. However, for 2026 we've added an additional 15 drum loops, with stripped down 'dry' variations and top loops. 

We're hoping these show you what is possible with foley sounds and inspire you to do your own sounds design, but you're welcome to sample the loops, cut them up, or use them as is in your productions.

In fact, we hope you do because we took the extra step of juicing these up with some of our analog gear.

15 New Drum Kits for 2026

We've updated the original version of STONEWIRE with 15 new drum kits.These are available as WAV files that you can easily import into your DAW or hardware of choice.

This includes demo loops of the sounds with dry and top loop variations and one shot samples with our processing on the sounds so you can sequence them however you wish. 

15 Logic Pro Drum Machine Designer Kits

If you use Logic Pro (version 12.2 or higher) you can save these kits as Drum Machine Designer presets and see exactly how we shaped the foley sounds using stock effects.

Enable or disable each effect in the chain to understand how the sound design was done and make it your own. 

20 Ableton Drum Racks

For Ableton Live 11.3 users, STONEWIRE also includes an Ableton Live Pack with 20 pre-built drum kits you can drag and drop into your sessions and immediately start creating as well as the original MIDI used to record the loops. 

The goal was to help inspire you and give you something playable right out of the box.

Ableton Live Set and Logic Pro Session File

STONEWIRE now includes session files for both Ableton Live and Logic Pro so you can explore how the sound design was done as well as use the MIDI loops as a starting point for your own ideas. 

Technical Notes and FAQ

• Samples are delivered as 48kHz and 44.1kHz, 24 bit WAV files and will work on most hardware and virtually all modern DAWs. 
  

• You must have Ableton 11.3 Suite or later to use the Live set.
  If you do not have Ableton Suite version 11.3 or above you will only be able to use the included wav files, but not the full Ableton set. On Standard tier of Ableton, certain devices may not work. More recent versions of Ableton are backwards compatible and can open other projects.

You can open up the presets and start playing them as they are immediately. Or you can use the built in filters, envelopes and effects to customize the sounds and make them truly your own.

Automate them, map them to your controllers, connect them to your modular synth, there are loads of creative experiments ready for you with these.

And we also used the instruments to make pre-recorded loops and MIDI if you're feeling stuck creativity and need something extra to help you build momentum on a project.

The presets are built using Decent Sampler. This is a plugin that is free to download. It's available as a VST, AU, and AAX plugin and also runs as a standalone software on Mac, Windows, Linux, and iOS. Setup and download instructions will be emailed to you after purchase.

Why is it called MERGE MACHINES?

It is called MERGE MACHINES because we wanted to create playable instruments that are combinations of sources that would be tedious to use together in their original states.

Say you wanted to play a software instrument, a hardware synth, and a pitched foley sample all at the same time.

You could absolutely set this up and do it, but this takes time and effort. By the time you're ready to go, the creative spark that inspired you to do it might be gone. 

The solution is to build things like this in a big batch so they're ready to go and at your fingertips when you need them. 

What Can MERGE MACHINES do?

These tricky to combine sounds are all ready to go so you can move quickly and capture an idea while it's still fresh in the moment.

You can use it in Logic Pro, Ableton Live, FL Studio, Pro Tools, Reaper and many more DAWs.

Installation Instructions

You will need to install Decent Sampler to use these.
